23andme Weight Loss Study | Week 3

Week 3

Holy cow this week has flown by! Seriously it was one good thing after the other all week and it just didn’t let up! Truthfully, I couldn’t be happier!

Seriously … I felt like a million bucks this past week. Was the reason weight loss? No. I was just in my awesome bubble almost every-single-day. Like wake up and open my eyes in bed and instantly feel rested, happy and ready to take on the day {golly jeepers}! The kind of happy where someone says something totally and completely irrational to you but you’re feeling so awesome that it doesn’t matter. Bring-it-on because my world is sunshine, lollipops, rainbows and everything is wonderful!  Yeah, it’s been like this for an entire week. It feels so good, I don’t want it to end!

Ok, enough about that.

So in addition to being in my awesome bubble this past week, I was also so hungry you guys! The kind of hungry that is hard to ignore. The truth is… even if I wasn’t on a weight loss plan I’d still be hungry. I didn’t gain thank goodness, because my halo slipped again and I did cheat. Not the super bad kind of cheat though. It was the middle of the road kind of cheat. I had movie theater popcorn one day because duh, I was at the movies with my friend. We went to see “I Tonya”, it was worth every penny…I recommend you see it.  Then another day I just said… well I can’t say it on the blog but I basically said “bleep it” and ate more yogurt and pistachios. I know, I’m a real risk taker, lol. Oh, and dark chocolate. I had 2 extra squares another day.

So my halo slipped a little bit {again} and I only lost another 2 pounds this past week and I’m totally ok with that. So I didn’t stay on the straight and narrow and I still lost a little bit…so I consider that a success. Hopefully there is someone reading that can relate. I want you guys to understand where I’m at each week and how it’s playing a role in my weight loss and success. You guys don’t mind, do you?

So, once a week 23andme sends me an email to log on and take a quick survey and report my progress.  It usually takes about 5 minutes to complete and so far the questions every week are fairly basic.  Questions like: did you stick to the plan? How closely did you follow the plan?  Did you exercise?  etc.  Although, in addition to the survey questions this week, there was a message that they would have a personal trainer online to help answer workout questions.  Nope it wasn’t me…dang.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to to join the group discussion due to timing.  But, I hope to check it out next time.

My workouts have been going great!  I feel super fantastic after they are done.  Getting out the door has been what I’m struggling with, but once I’m there everything is great.  I guess I really have to push myself out of my awesome bubble to get there… and I’m not sure what that’s about.

True story… during my last workout I felt like spicing it up when I spied the big silver workout ball in the corner.  Nostalgia overcame my senses and I couldn’t resist pulling it out and using it as part of my workout.  I forgot how fun and versatile they are!
