Elephant In The Room | Fear

Fear.

Catch yourself if you can.  How many times a day does that voice in your head speak from a place of fear?  Today let’s talk about that elephant in the room, fear. Learn to recognize fear talking before you act or make a decision.   Simply because,

Fear holds you back.

Fear says:  No you can’t.

Fear only ever tells you one thing: STOP.

Elephant In The Room | Fear

Danger is very real. Fear is a choice.

Everyone has heard that small whisper in their head, doubting their abilities when it comes to fitness/exercise.  When you confront your inner fears you can begin striving toward achieving your goals.  Isn’t that the point of life?  Who doesn’t want to achieve their goal?

So let’s identify those inner fears and deal with them. Here are examples of inner fears that you may be facing and what the may sound like.

Afraid of failing sounds like

I can’t do this

I don’t know where to start

I’ll get bored

I don’t have time

Meeting others expectations

I’ll get sore

I’ll be embarrassed

I can’t keep up, so why bother

Comparing yourself to others

I look fat

I’m too sweaty

I’m not good enough

I’m too jiggly

Any of those sound familiar?  That’s fear talking.  Fear = STOP.  Stop is nothing.  Stop is boring.  So, go ahead do the opposite…something!

Fear Meanings

Choose to be brave.

On the flip side…thoughts of creativity, courage and inspiration will only tell you to GO.  GO = motion = change = fascination = possibility = growth = LIFE.

I love this image. It makes me smile.  Cool hat bro! GO!

Like with most things in life, if you don’t find a powerful inner motivation for doing something, obstacles/excuses are always easy to find.  Catch yourself in moments of fear, as best you can. Acknowledge the elephant in the room and don’t be afraid.  You will find… you have less to fear…than you thought.  Plus, I’m here for you…I will cheer you on, Go go GO!

Ultimately, its determination that says “Yes you can.” Results say “I told you so.”

So there you have it.

Imagine you have the body and health you desire.  What did it take for you to achieve it?

What concerns you about your current exercising and eating patterns?
