Pokemon GO Workout

Take it to the next level

It’s beginning to look a lot like a Pokemon GO summer. No doubt, I should be reading a good summer book in my spare time.  But no, I’m not.  Like many other Americans, I’m chasing Pokemon.  In case you havent heard, you gotta catch’em all…while you’re at it…why not turn it into a Pokemon GO Workout!?

I’m not a Pro Pokemon Trainer by any means.  It’s all new to me.  I will admit that its kinda fun {addictive}.  No, it’s not just a kids game…9+ million people are playing it since the app version hit the market this month.  Thats my story and I’m sticking to it.

Mainly a walking game.  I might add that walking with erratic stops and detours drastically limits the speed and type of workout you can do.  Initially, I thought that it could be used together with a HIIT workout or on a Run.  No. After playing for a few days, I can see that would be seriously annoying/distracting to a runner trying to get some distance in. Pokemon is not really set up like that, the game is a bit slowish at the capture point and unpredictable. It’s hard to describe, you really have to see it to understand, or have your favorite former Ash Ketchum wannabe explain it {my son} like I did.

Yes, it could get dangerous, if you stopped to catch a Pokemon in the wrong place, like the middle of a bus lane on a busy street.  Like any good game it comes with warnings… Pokemon GO may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful don’t drive or do anything that requires you to be alert to your surroundings while playing. Don’t play while operating heavy machinery…etc. Be careful.

Not a quick game to learn by any means, its more than just staring at your phone and walking around.  Yes, I enlisted help with the story line and details. So far, I made it to Level 5!  After careful consideration I choose Blue Team Mystic. Go Team Mystic!!
